Investing in Patient Programs
We are excited that you are considering a functional medicine approach to your health and understand that is an investment.
Our programs are designed to target chronic health concerns and help you successfully move towards being a healthier version of yourself. All new patients begin with our Foundations I Program: a comprehensive introduction to functional medicine that addresses your personal health history and/or the treatment of previously identified acute health needs.
Upon completion of Foundations I, you will have the opportunity to continue into our Foundations II Program, where together we build upon your progress in Foundations I, optimize your health and provide ongoing guidance as your body continues to heal and thrive.
Once patients reach their desired level of health, we transition you to our Annual Maintenance Program, where you return annually for proactive monitoring your wellbeing, re-assessment of key health markers and ongoing support to maintain established lifestyle practices.
FOUNDATIONS I
$2550
This 4-6 month program is for all new patients and designed to provide the time, support and guidance needed to address core health concerns and build a strong foundation for your health.

Our Foundations I Program includes:
A detailed 90-minute chart review by Dr. Richards or our APP, Lindsey Bowen prior to your first appointment.
Two comprehensive evaluations with one of our Certified Functional Medicine Practitioners (allow 60-minutes each).
Personalized laboratory tests (as prescribed).
Three sessions with our Certified Nutritionist and an individualized nutrition plan (one 60-minute and two 30-minute sessions).
Three sessions with our Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and personalized lifestyle guidance (one 60-minute and two 30-minute sessions).
The option of in-person or telemedicine appointments.
15% off all adjunct therapies, including IV therapy, acupuncture, Infrared sauna, BEMER therapy, and PRP (as prescribed).

FOUNDATIONS II

This program is designed for patients who have completed the Foundations I Program and offers a continuation of the progress made towards individual health goals through implementation, sustainability and refinement of lifestyle changes that promote long-term health.

Repeat laboratory tests for all abnormal lab results.
A 60-minute follow-up consultation with one of our Certified Functional Medicine Practitioners and review of most recent lab results.
Two 30-minute sessions with our Certified Nutritionist.
Two 30-minute sessions with our Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.
The option of in-person or telemedicine appointments.
15% off all adjunct therapies, including IV therapy, acupuncture, Infrared sauna, BEMER therapy, and PRP (as prescribed).

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
A program designed for patients who have achieved their desired level of health and wellness and are ready to transition into ongoing health optimization. It provides continued support for established routines, re-assessment of key health markers, as well as personalized guidance to maintain long-term wellbeing.

Commercial and federal insurance does not cover Functional Medicine at this time, and we do not accept or process insurance claims.

Many functional medicine services qualify for FSA/HSA funds. We encourage you to check with your plan administrator to confirm your specific benefits and eligible expenses.
We also accept CareCredit®, which offers flexible financing options, including the ability for qualified applicants to extend payments over a repayment period that is convenient for them.

In preparation for your initial visit, our practitioners will invest significant time evaluating your intake paperwork which includes a chronological timeline of your health history from birth to now.

The functional medicine approach to health targets the root cause of disease, not just the symptoms. Your intake paperwork is intentionally thorough. This allows our practitioners to best understand your personal situation and develop a wellness care plan that is individual to you. Please set aside the time needed to complete this paperwork as accurately as possible. -
All paperwork must be received 7 days prior to your first appointment. Incomplete/missing paperwork will result in your appointment being rescheduled. Our patient care coordinator will call and remind you prior to this deadline if there is paperwork outstanding.

Our patient portal is your secure online account where you can access your health information and communicate with our practice. Here you will find lab results, appointment information, forms and the ability to message your care team. New patients must register through the portal to complete and upload new patient forms. Our patient care coordinator will contact you once your intake papers have been received to collect the deposit and schedule your first appointment.

Programs include the services listed (see each program for more details). Additional practitioner appointments and coaching sessions can be purchased in addition to the program if needed. Our practitioners may also suggest specialty lab work that is not included in the program price. We will quote any additional costs to you upfront so you can decide whether you would like to proceed.

We offer a 15 % discount on a variety of adjunct therapies to all patients with a current active program. Adjunct therapies are by prescribed by our practitioners as needed and support you on your wellness journey. They include IV therapy, acupuncture, infrared sauna, BEMER therapy and PRP. Adjunct therapies are not included in the program price. Our team are happy to discuss these options with you at any time if interested in learning more.

The remaining 50% of the program cost is due at your first appointment.

Foundations I and Foundations II Programs are active for 6 months starting on the day of your first appointment. During the program, you will meet with our physician or APP multiple times, and complete all lab work, health coaching and nutrition sessions. Our annual program is active for 12 months. The 15% discount on adjunct therapies is valid only with an active program.

This visit is used to determine Current State of Health, Assess Health Goals and Develop a Health Plan. The initial visit also includes a Dietician Consult to provide Nutritional Counseling and a Nutrition Plan, and a Health Coach Consult to provide a Supportive and Sustainable Health Plan.
This visit is available for Telemedicine. Pricing is the same as an in-office visit.

At this appointment we will review recent lab work, progress with lifestyle changes and any new or ongoing health concerns. This visit is available for Telemedicine. Pricing is the same as an in-office visit.

Nutrition followups are necessary to address any dietary issues, changes, reintroductions or concerns. This is a Telemedicine visit. Pricing is the same as an in-office visit.

If you choose to move forward with ongoing health and wellness coaching after your initial comprehensive visit at Athens Functional Medicine, you would then book a one-hour Health Mapping Session appointment for $125. Health plans vary by person and plan after that mapping session.
